We used our minds well for this project.
To prepare for this project, we were researching articles about misinformation and also the effects of social media and smartphones on teenagers and society. We then created our own satire articles by finding news articles about some problem created by technology and social media, and then coming up with our own idea about how to make a story connected to the article sound real but be satire.
We wrote the articles in Word and learned how to code HTML with CodeHS.com. Then we coded the articles as web pages using Replit.com.
It was a fun experience to create from our minds onto the web and share it with the world. It wasn't as hard as we thought it would be. For my article, I wrote about how TikTok users create fake accounts for people they stalk with videos. Read it here.

This year for Digltal Literacy we learned about misinformation. Misinformation is another name for false news/false information.
Now, there are many types of misinformation; however our project was based on satire. Satire is "the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.
My project was about the 'Treat Button' which made fun of the addiction teens have with their phones and social media. As you can see on this poster board, these are some examples of student work. Overall, I had a fun time using my knowledge of coding that I learned from CodeHS.com to create this web page.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Thank you!
